There is a display of Inuit artifacts dating back as far as 3000 B.C. Tools made from slate, ivory and whalebone, soapstone carvings, and handmade replicas depicting the Inuit way of life that would have been used to barter for modern goods with curious outsiders that sailed in on ships years ago. That demand soon became a trade and important part of the Inuit economy.
